‘Cured’ a couple of weeks after a prostatectomy? Don’t think so…

My surgeon called with the results of the pathology report on my prostate cancer. “It’s all good news,” he said. The cancer was contained to the prostate and had not spread to the lymph nodes.
“As far as I’m concerned,” he said, “you’re cured.”

I quote him and then add that I know well I need to get my PSA monitored for the rest of my life. Two of my doctors have used the world. I wonder whether it’s more of a jinx.
Problem is, the more you read about this tricky ol’ disease, the less certain you are of anything. I wasn’t getting at you, Jeff – just your doctor for using the word “cured”. Regards
